Data sources

Source activation policy: no source is activated without a human licence review recorded as license_confirmed in the catalogue, and licence terms are evaluated per surface — internal analysis, client bundle, public bundle may each admit or exclude a source separately (docs/design-decisions.md ruling (k)).

• Natural Earth — jurisdiction boundaries. Public domain; made with Natural Earth.
• Copernicus Climate Data Store (C3S/ECMWF) — climate reanalysis and projections. Generated using Copernicus Climate Change Service information; neither the European Commission nor ECMWF is responsible for any use of the Copernicus information.
• World Bank — World Development Indicators. CC-BY 4.0.
• IMF PortWatch — chokepoint transit series, with attribution.
• USGS — earthquake feeds. US public domain.
• NOAA CPC — ENSO series. US public domain.
• GDACS — hazard alerts, © GDACS with attribution.
• FAO — food price indices, with attribution.
• Esri, Maxar, Earthstar Geographics — satellite basemap imagery (World Imagery), used with attribution under Esri's terms.
• Google News — headline/link aggregation only; article content is fetched from and attributed to the ORIGINAL publisher. Publisher content remains © its publisher; excerpts are used for research analysis with source attribution throughout.
• News publishers (BBC, Al Jazeera, The Guardian, DW, France 24, CNA, NHK, and the catalogued Australian and regional outlets) — headlines and analysis excerpts attributed per article; each outlet's content remains © that outlet. Paid/wire sources (Reuters, AP) are not ingested pending licence agreements.

Forecasts and surveys

Crowd forecasts are published as cohort aggregates with minimum-count thresholds; below threshold the platform reports "insufficient responses" rather than a value. Scenario projections are model-basis estimates under stated assumptions (versioned in the repository) and carry uncertainty ranges; the tipping-trajectory step adjustment is an analyst-basis judgment, cited where shown.
